Security agencies have deployed personnel around properties belonging to Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom following information about an alleged plan by unknown individuals to attack the Kingdom’s facilities.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Kingdom said it had received a security briefing indicating that unidentified individuals were allegedly planning an attack on some of its properties.
The deployment was made as a precautionary measure following an assessment by security agencies, according to the statement signed by Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga.
“The relevant security agencies have deployed personnel around the Kingdom’s properties as a precautionary measure to safeguard the Kingdom’s assets, officials, and the general public,” the statement said.
The Kingdom did not provide details about the alleged threat, including the identities of the suspected individuals, the facilities allegedly targeted or when the purported attack was expected to take place.
Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom thanked the security agencies for what it described as their vigilance and commitment to protecting the Kingdom’s properties and the public.
The Kingdom also sought to reassure the public that its offices remain open and accessible and that normal operations have not been affected by the security deployment.
“All Kingdom offices remain open and accessible to the public and continue to operate normally,” the statement said.
No attack on the Kingdom’s facilities was reported in the statement.
