WAKISO, Uganda — Police in Wakiso District have arrested three suspects in connection with a string of motorcycle robberies and recovered 10 suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led operation.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the arrests follow a case of aggravated robbery reported earlier this month.
On February 13, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m., Ssesanga Equiam reported that he had been attacked and robbed of his motorcycle, registration number UMA 191 DV, a Bajaj Boxer model. The assailants, allegedly armed with pangas, reportedly waylaid him and forcefully took the motorcycle.
Police say investigations led officers to Old Kampala in the Bukesa–Nankulabye area, where three suspects were arrested. During the operation, officers recovered 10 motorcycles believed to have been stolen.

The motorcycles recovered during the operation bear the following registration numbers: UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H, UDK 657F, UDN 001C and four numberless Bajaj motorcycles.
During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to involvement in several criminal activities, including: motorcycle robberies, highway phone snatching, housebreaking and theft and related offences.
Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ operations and to identify possible accomplices.
Kampala Metropolitan Police have urged members of the public who may have lost motorcycles in recent robberies to visit the relevant police stations to help with the identification and verification of the recovered property.
