KIBALE — A rare natural wonder known as the “Naked Adam” tree is drawing visitors’ attention in Kibale National Park, one of the country’s premier forest reserves.

In Kibale National Park, the “Naked Adam” tree (often paired with the “Naked Eve” tree) is a famous botanical curiosity and a popular landmark for tourists.

Local guides often describe the Naked Adam as the only “male” tree of its kind in the forest, characterised by its smooth, “naked” bark.

It is almost always mentioned alongside the Naked Eve tree; together they are considered one of the park’s “unique wonders”.

How to See It

Guided Walks: You can see these trees during guided nature walks or day hikes that depart from the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre.

Schedule: Walks typically start at 08:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 02:00 PM and last about 2 to 3 hours.

Pro Tip: Visitors are often advised to specifically remind their guide to show them these trees during the trek.

Ngoni Safaris Uganda, a popular tour operator, highlighted the tree on social media, noting that it is a key stop on guided nature walks. The operator described it as a “peculiar natural feature for tourists to explore alongside the park’s rich biodiversity.”

Kibale National Park is renowned for its primate populations, including chimpanzees, as well as its lush rainforest and diverse bird species. Attractions like the Naked Adam tree add to the park’s appeal, giving visitors unique photo opportunities and experiences that combine wildlife and natural curiosity.

Ngoni Safaris Uganda encouraged travelers to visit, using hashtags such as #ngonisafaris, #visituganda, and #travelphotography, noting the enjoyment the park brings to tourists and nature enthusiasts alike.

The tree and other natural highlights continue to position Kibale as a must-visit destination for eco-tourism in Uganda.
