The Uganda Prisons Service has announced the death of Ms. Leah Apwoyo, an Assistant Superintendent of Prisons attached to the Prisons Academy and Training School in Luzira.
Apwoyo died on the morning of October 22, 2026, at Mulago National Referral Hospital, according to a notice issued by the Commissioner General of Prisons.
The announcement described her death as untimely but did not disclose the cause of death.
Apwoyo served at the Prisons Academy and Training School in Luzira, a facility responsible for training and developing personnel of the Uganda Prisons Service.
The Commissioner General’s notice did not provide further details about her career or burial arrangements.
