That girl Kadondi must apologise to me – Fik Fameica

Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica has called on Makerere University Guild President Gracious Kadondi to apologise for interrupting his performance at the university’s 2026 Freshers Ball.

The musician renewed his criticism in a social media post following the October 31 incident at Impis Rugby Grounds, where he accused Kadondi of disrupting his show and wasting his time.

“I love you Makerere. But that girl Kadondi should apologize for disorganising my show and wasting my time! Anyway I forgive her,” he wrote.

The disagreement occurred when Kadondi, accompanied by members of her team, walked onto the stage during Fik Fameica’s performance and attempted to address the audience.

The rapper appeared unhappy with the interruption and asked the Guild President and her entourage to leave the stage, insisting that he had work to do.

“Leave my stage! I have work to do,” he told them.

The exchange drew reactions from the audience, with some students chanting the musician’s name as security personnel and members of his team intervened. Kadondi eventually left the stage, allowing the performance to continue.

The incident sparked debate about the organisation of the Freshers Ball, particularly the decision to schedule the Guild President’s address during the headline performance.

In a subsequent explanation, the Guild Cabinet said Kadondi’s address had been postponed several times and that she and the musician had been invited onto the stage at the same time.

The student leadership said it was investigating the management of the programme to establish how the confrontation occurred.

The fallout also affected the Guild Cabinet, with Kadondi suspending Culture, Mobilisation and Social Affairs Minister Edward Mutebi pending investigations. Mutebi later resigned, citing disagreements with the leadership and concerns about event planning.

The Freshers Ball was organised under the 92nd Students’ Guild and supported by Coca-Cola’s Essaawa Yonna Kisoboka campaign. Other performers included Winnie Nwagi, Feffe Bussi, Azawi and Nina Roz.

Kadondi was elected Guild President in April 2026 on the National Unity Platform ticket. She is a third-year Bachelor of Optometry student.

Although Fik Fameica said he had forgiven Kadondi, his latest remarks indicate that he still expects an apology over the handling of his performance.
