He was subsequently handed over to investigators from the Wamala Police Region and transferred to Mubende Police Station for questioning.

The attacks occurred in the early hours of October 9, when armed assailants reportedly raided homes in three villages, killing two people, injuring several others and stealing property.

The deceased were identified as Ivan Sserwanja, 29, and his pregnant wife, Rose Nakalanzi, 26, who dealt in coffee. The couple were found dead in their home in Lukaya Village.

Meanwhile, security authorities have deployed an additional 50 Field Force Unit officers from Naguru to reinforce police and Uganda People’s Defence Forces personnel operating in Kitenga.

The reinforcement is intended to strengthen security, protect residents and prevent further attacks as investigations continue.
