KAMPALA — Concern has grown among fans and members of Uganda’s entertainment industry following reports that veteran musician Stecia Mayanja was admitted to Nakasero Hospital after reportedly suffering a health scare.

Information circulating on social media and entertainment platforms indicates that the singer was rushed to the Kampala-based medical facility, although details surrounding her condition remained unclear by Tuesday afternoon. No official statement had been issued by her family, management, or hospital authorities regarding her health status.

The reports come months after Mayanja returned to Uganda following an extended stay in Canada. In previous media interviews, the singer said she had returned home to revive her music career and reconnect with her fans after spending several years abroad.

Mayanja, one of Uganda’s most celebrated female musicians, is known for hit songs that helped shape the country’s contemporary music scene. In recent years, she has also expressed interest in public service and announced plans to contest for the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament seat as an independent candidate.

Her reported hospitalisation quickly attracted attention on social media, with fans and fellow artists sending messages of support and wishing her a speedy recovery.
