Uganda’s She Cranes have won the 2026 Africa Netball Cup after defeating defending champions South Africa 56–53 in the final in Nairobi.
The victory capped an unbeaten campaign for Uganda, who went through the tournament without a loss before overcoming the Proteas in a closely contested final.
Uganda had earlier beaten Malawi, Nigeria, Zambia and Kenya in the group stage before defeating Namibia 52–41 in the semi-final.
The result gives Uganda another continental title after South Africa had beaten the She Cranes in the 2025 Africa Netball Cup final.
The Nairobi tournament also served as an important step towards the 2027 Netball World Cup.
World Netball had already confirmed South Africa and Uganda as pre-qualified teams based on the world rankings, while Malawi and Namibia earned invitations to join them at the 2027 World Cup.
The 2026 Africa Netball Cup brought together 10 teams at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, in Nairobi.
