Police arrest 40 suspects in Kabalagala crime operation

KAMPALA — Police in Kampala have arrested 40 suspects in an operation targeting thuggery, mugging and other criminal activities in crime-prone areas of Kabalagala, Kibuli and Kisugu.

The operation was conducted on August 24, 2026, between 6pm and 10pm by Kampala Metropolitan Police South through Kabalagala Police Division, jointly with Tokora officers.

Police said the suspects were arrested from various crime hotspots and are currently undergoing screening.

Among those arrested was Hamis Fairuzi, who had been wanted in connection with aggravated robbery.

Police said operations will continue across the policing area as part of efforts to combat criminality and enhance public safety.
