Police in Nateete have arrested a man accused of disguising himself as a female domestic worker in order to secure employment before allegedly stealing UGX 1.7 million from his employers in Mutundwe, Kampala.
The suspect has been identified as Kayaga Rayan, who allegedly obtained employment under the identity of Namirembe Rukia while working as a domestic worker at a residence in Mutundwe, Rubaga Division.
According to preliminary police findings, the suspect allegedly concealed his identity while seeking employment and later stole cash belonging to his employers.
The Uganda Police Force said Kayaga was arrested at a church in Mutundwe after security personnel conducted a routine screening exercise before allowing worshippers into the premises.

Police said during interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to disguising himself as a female domestic worker with the intention of stealing from employers. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The arrest followed a report by the employers after they discovered that UGX 1.7 million was missing from their home.
