I’ve never been single, says Spice Diana

Ugandan singer Spice Diana has revealed that she has never been single in her adult life, while claiming that her standing in the regional music industry means she no longer needs to approach fellow musicians seeking collaborations.

Speaking in a recent interview, the singer, whose real name is Namukwaya Hajara Diana, declined to reveal the identity of her romantic partner, insisting that her relationship is a private matter.

“Do I know yours? You would want to know mine—that’s my life,” she responded when asked about her relationship status.

She said she was not looking for love because she was already in a relationship, adding that she could not imagine sharing her partner with another person.

On her music career, Spice Diana expressed confidence in her regional appeal, claiming that musicians across East Africa would be interested in working with her.

“There is no artist in East Africa who wouldn’t wish to work with me. I passed that level of requesting collaborations because it adds to both me and the other artists. I am not annoying any artist. Any artist in East Africa would like to work with me,” she said.

She argued that musical collaborations should be mutually beneficial, rather than requiring one artiste to repeatedly seek opportunities from another.

The singer also weighed in on the financial differences between musicians in East Africa, citing Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz’s ownership of a private jet as an example of the level of financial success that remains difficult for Ugandan artistes to achieve.

“It’s hard for a Ugandan artist to own a private jet,” she remarked.

Spice Diana’s comments come amid continued public interest in both her romantic life and her position in the regional entertainment industry.

The singer has generally kept her relationships away from public scrutiny, previously indicating that she would only introduce her partner publicly when she was ready for marriage.

Her latest remarks suggest she intends to maintain that privacy while asserting her confidence in her music career and the opportunities available to her across East Africa.
