“Hoozambe” singer D Star has dismissed fellow musician Kapeke as an upcoming artiste, questioning his musical achievements and his standing in Uganda’s music industry.

In a recent interview, D Star challenged Kapeke’s recognition as a leading musician, asking which of his songs had established him as a major force on the local music scene.

He singled out Kapeke’s song “Wanika AK”, arguing that it had not made a lasting impression on Ugandan audiences.

D Star also challenged Kapeke’s supporters to identify a musical flow from the singer that could match what he considers quality music.

“In Uganda, you can’t compare me,” D Star said, insisting that his position in the industry was not on the same level as Kapeke’s.

The singer further revealed that he had written a line directed at Kapeke, using it to reinforce his criticism of the younger artiste.

However, D Star’s remarks extended beyond music when he claimed to possess intimate images of Kapeke’s girlfriend, although he provided no evidence to substantiate the allegation.

The comments add to the public exchanges and criticism among Ugandan musicians, where artistes frequently challenge one another’s musical ability, popularity and standing in the industry.

Kapeke had not publicly responded to D Star’s latest remarks at the time of publication.
