Police in Wakiso District are investigating the killing of a 56-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed in the neck following a disagreement.
The incident occurred on September 19, 2026, at about 4pm in Kabowa Banda Village, Mende Sub County, Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, 24-year-old Muwanguzi David allegedly picked up a piece of glass during the disagreement and stabbed 56-year-old Kisambira Meddy in the neck, causing fatal injuries.
Police responded to the scene, processed and documented it before recovering exhibits believed to be relevant to the investigation.
Muwanguzi was arrested and is being held as investigations continue.
Kisambira’s body was conveyed to Mulago KCCA Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police said further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Five Arrested in Matugga Drug Operation
Meanwhile, police in Matugga have arrested five people during an operation targeting suspected drug-related activities in Garamba and Busonko trading centres.
The operation was conducted at about 1am on September 20, 2026, following complaints from members of the public about the activities of suspected drug users in the area.
Kampala Metropolitan Police said officers from Matugga Police Division recovered suspected narcotic substances during the operation.
The five suspects were charged and are awaiting arraignment before court.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said police would continue conducting operations against activities that undermine public safety and order in the area.
