Next Media Uganda has announced the appointment of Peter Mungoma as its Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and Chief of Radio, as the media company expands its radio portfolio.

Mungoma joins the group with more than two decades of experience in media, broadcasting, telecommunications and other sectors, according to Next Media.

In his new role, he will oversee the company’s radio operations while contributing to strategic leadership, commercial growth, digital transformation and team development across the group.

Next Media said Mungoma has played a significant role in Uganda’s media industry and will bring his experience to its radio, television and digital platforms.

The company also announced the acquisition of Capital Radio 2015 Limited, bringing Capital FM, Beat FM and KIIS FM into the Next Media group.

The three radio stations join Next Media’s existing platforms, including NBS Television, Sanyuka TV and Nile Post.

The announcements were made during the latest edition of Next Media Talks, held under the theme “Celebrate Uganda” as the country prepares to mark its 64th Independence anniversary.

Next Media said the session brought together members of its team to celebrate Uganda’s independence and reflect on the country’s shared identity and future.

The company also highlighted recent growth at Sanyuka TV, which it said had gained 103,000 new followers across its social media platforms.

The integration of Capital FM, Beat FM and KIIS FM expands Next Media’s presence in Uganda’s radio sector, while Mungoma’s appointment places him at the centre of the group’s radio operations.
