The Commander of Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has visited Zombo district which was attacked by rebels from the Democratic Republic of Congo last week.
The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations on Monday commended UPDF soldiers at Zeu detach for successfully repulsing the rebels.
He urged them to continue defending their nation.
He listened to their issues about the environment in which his soldiers operate.
“We are the fire of our country and therefore whoever touches our country should get burnt,” he told them.
Last Friday, UPDF troops fought off 20 Lendu militias of Cooperative for the Development of Congo (CODECO), killing four and capturing two others.
CODECO is an armed group that has been carrying out attacks in the DRC province of Ituri.
