On 17/7/2021, some cattle dealers together with some stakeholders in Lolachat connived with cattle owners to have an open cattle market in some isolated place in Natirai.
Cattle dealers from Teso went and bought cows but the security of Nabilatuk commanded by the DPC managed to impound about 63 cows which were being driven to the direction of Katakwi.
These traders also managed to get un authenticated movement permit of the 63 cows from some dubious person who purported to be the DVO of Nabilatuk.
“Our security forces managed to arrest him and the 63 cows have been impounded and exhibited,” said AIP Longole Mike, Ag. PRO Mt Moroto.
“This is therefore to inform the public that operating open cattle market is against the presidential directive on the Control of COVID 19 and any one found operating open cattle market will be arrested and prosecuted in court of law.”
