The Uganda film fraternity is mourning the death of a great actor John Wayne Muganza.
Muganza died in his sleep Saturday night at his home in Kisasi, a Kampala suburb.
“He was so talented. To me, he was like the Forest Whitaker of Uganda,” said film director Kennedy Kihire.
“We’ll prayer for his soul.”
Muganza will be buried on Tuesday in Jinja district.
Having started his acting career as a student in Malaysia, Muganza featured in foreign movies such as Estet, Gadiscuci, Zoo, Gera, Khas Entrapment.
He returned to Uganda to star in films and television series such as Hostel, 5@Home, Are you not a man?, Balikoowa in the city, New Intentions, 27 Guns, Total Rubia oil TVC, Ariho and Hollywood’s Last King of Scotland.
In Tsu’pa directed by Kihire, Muganza acted as Leo.
