The suspects behind a failed assassination on Gen Katumba Wamala have been arrested.
They were picked from Kawempe, a Kampala suburb after a joint security team led by Police Crime Intelligence personnel locked down three zones for more than six hours.
Lugoba, Kaziga and Kibwa zones have been under lock down on Monday as security operatives carried out a search before arresting three suspects who allegedly killed Katumba’s daughter Brenda Nantongo and his driver Haruna Kayondo last month.
One suspect was arrested in a rental at Kibwa, another in Kaziga, and the last at Lugoba.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Gen Paul Lokech says the three belong to an ADF cell.
Their leader Shiek Obadia is still on the run believed to be in hiding in Eastern Congo.
They are also believed to have assassinated former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
Two suspects, Ismael Hussein Sserubula and Siraji Yusuf Nyanzi, were later arrested and charged in court and remanded to prison with the murder of Nantongo and Kayondo, and attempted murder of Gen Katumba.
