Smile communications has launched a new “taste to buy” innovative product designed to give a practical user experience before purchase.
This, the first of its kind on the Ugandan market has not just set stage for new price internet and date, but redefines the concept of working from home solutions.
The promotion dubbed “Jaribu smile” or “taste the internet” is set to change the price and internet landscape in Uganda as it allows you to first taste the services before buying.
With the President of Uganda announcing a lockdown in order to curb the further spread of the deadly covid-19, more people are therefore working from home. It also means that there is increased demand for better data services, hence the ‘taste the internet’.
“This is a bold move from our side and we hope to set stage for better internet at affordable prices in the country, we believe that only the best is good enough for the Ugandan market, we also have confidence in our products and services and that why we are first giving you a try before you make the purchase decision” said Felix Owilo, the head of marketing-smile Uganda.
While this concept was piloted before, it is a novel concept as it is for the very for first time that a consumer is allowed to try out a product or service before purchasing it.
It is still unclear how the other telecoms will respond to this strategic affront, but one thing is for sure in a highly competitive market like Uganda one can safely say that the competitors for now have something up their sleeves.
Telecom clients in Uganda have in the recent past been treated to all kinds of moves to woo them to the either side of the telecom race. With the new normal, offices are now located in the peoples living rooms and backyards.
Schools and learning institutions have also gone virtual as lessons are now being run online. With this shift of course comes a new challenge especially in regard to quality, focus, innovation and the practical implementation of the new strategies.
Businesses, homes, schools, and people online are now more than ever concerned about the speed, and quality of the internet being provided by the telecoms and are keen just to be sure that they get the best bargains available in the market .
Smile has offered one such bargain through an easy affordable “taste the internet”.
