Speaker Jacob Oulanyah says that he has not yet seen or received a list of cabinet appointees.
He made the revelation Thursday while presiding over the house during the budget speech at Kololo Independence Grounds.
He, however, requested the President to avail him the list to allow Parliament exercise it’s constitutional mandate of vetting the nominees on Monday next week.
“The cabinet list was very secretive, even the Speaker did not know about it.”
Oulanyah said while the president was addressing parliament, he kept referring to individuals as “vice president designate (Jessica Alupo), prime minister designate (Robinah Nabanjja), State minister for Finance designate (Amos Lugoloobi)”.
“If you know or suspect that could be you, please come forward and have a photo with the president,” Oulanyah sounded them out.
Meanwhile, Oulanyah said the situation of COVID19 is very bad and thee second wave has affected some MPs and staff.
“Parliament has a medical insurance scheme and I advise you to seek medical care immediately.”
Parliament building will be closed on 12 and 13 June for fumigation.
