President Museveni has said killing people and using assassinations is a sign of bankruptcy.
“These people who use assassination, these are people who are not sure of themselves; NRM never uses assassination, because we are sure of ourselves,” he said Thursday while addressing Parliament at Kololo.
“Why should I kill you because you are opposing me? Why? If I am right and you are wrong, why should I kill you?”
Museveni said if that was a solution, he too would have killed many people.
“There are so many people I would have killed because they were annoying me, like Cecilia Ogwal, I used to call her ‘dano orach’ meaning bad woman because she had a bad tongue.”
He said people would now be saying, “If Hon. Cecilia Ogwal had not died, great things would have happened. But now I am here with Hon. Cecilia Ogwal.”
“(Kizza) Besigye, if I had killed Besigye, he would be a hero in the memory of the people. That’s how Jesus became a hero. If those Romans had not killed Jesus I don’t know what would have happened.”
“Killing people is bankrupt. It is really bankrupt to kill people,” he concluded.
