The head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Col. Edith Nakalema, last night bought eats for stranded school children at Namayiba Bus Terminal.
Following the drastic hike of Public transport fares, Nakalema Tuesday night intervened to ensure that travellers, especially the students return home safely within the assigned time.
She advised all people who have been charged excess transport fares by bus companies keep their receipts.
The unit is going to follow up and hold bus transport operators responsible.
Police has also given out their own buses to support the Education ministry to transport students safely back to their upcountry places.
Travellers going upcountry are still stuck at Kisenyi Bus terminal due to the high prices that have been imposed upon them by the bus and taxi owners.
