In pursuance of the Mission strategic objective of strengthening its capacity to to implement its mandate, the Uganda High Commission in Pretoria in partnership with the Education and Development Training Institute of South Africa ( EDTISA) has concluded a two-day staff training program themed: “Country Positioning For Investment Promotion: Focusing on Public Media and Diplomacy in the digital age.”
The training program attended by the Mission’s Home-based Staff led by the High Commissioner Ambassador Barbara Oundo Nekesa aimed at refreshing and re-orienting the staff members to re-strategize as they implement the Mission’s mandate in the era of Covid -19.
The training program extensively covered the following areas:
●Public Diplomacy, Commercial Diplomacy Investors attraction & profiling
●Management of social media for Diplomatic Missions,
●Marketing Uganda and promoting her its interests,
●Impact of Covid -19 on Diplomatic service
●The role of women and their challenges in diplomacy amid the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The training program took place at Gallagher International Conference Centre in Midrand Johannesburg from 5th -6th June 2021 starting from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
At the end of the training program, the participants were awarded with certificates of completion of the prescribed course.
