The Chairperson of Makerere University Council—Mrs. Lorna Magara had announced the closure of Makerere University following President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s directives on COVID-19.
VACATION OF HALLS OF RESIDENCE
In fulfillment of the Presidential directive to close all educational Institutions to remove high concentrations of people which the coronavirus could take advantage of, the University Management has guided as follows:
All Ugandan under and Postgraduate students should vacate Halls of Residence with immediate effect and go back home.
International resident students who, for strong reasons, may not be able to vacate Halls to register with their hall Wardens and names be submitted to the Dean of Students office immediately for further management.
International students, who will be allowed to stay, will shift to one Hall of Residence where they will stay at their own cost.
All Halls of Residence must be closed by close of business Monday, 07th June, 2021.
