Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has instructed the Prime Minister to come today and update parliament on the demand for a review of the curfew policy.
“We are concerned about its impact on the economy & on the Holy month of Ramadhan — which requires nocturnal movements by the faithful,” Kadaga noted.
Last month, Kadaga urged government to revisit the curfew policy.
She said it’s negatively impacting the economy; e.g., the Tourism industry.
After relaxation of the lockdown, Airlines resumed flights into and out of Entebbe.
“KLM, Ethiopian & Turkish Airlines jet in after 9.00p.m & take off thereafter,” she noted.
Hon Latif Sebaggala says that curfew hours should be adjusted to 11pm or done away with.
“We are going into Ramadhan and there are special prayers conducted during the holy month and end late,” Latif noted.
