President Museveni has received an award for promoting Pan-African culture in diaspora.
This happened during the meeting with African-American business tycoon Akon at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura district.
The meeting was coordinated by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, Amb. Abbey Walusimbi.

As such, Amb. Walusimbi presented to the President an award (which he received on his behalf) while on the recent official business tour, the president had commissioned in the USA.
The award is in recognition of his promotion of the Pan-African culture amongst African Americans, being very open with welcoming the African Diaspora to return home to Africa and promoting investment across the African continent which was given to him by the Africa-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
While receiving the award, President Museveni appreciated Amb. Walusimbi for using his office to attract more African Americans to return home.
Walusimbi has noted that ACCI is set for a trade mission in Uganda come next month in which they will bring a number of investors in the country.
