Uganda National Roads Authority [UNRA] has diverted traffic at Lwera along Kampala-Masaka highway.
UNRA informed road users on the Kampala—Masaka Road that, the section at Lwera has been rendered impassable following the rains and the heavy trucks not giving the maintenance works time to set and hence compromising motorability.
UNRA team is now on site to continue addressing this situation.
“We are also working with the Uganda Police – Traffic Department to manage the current traffic gridlock in the area,” management said Friday morning.
Therefore, UNRA advises motorists to use the Mpigi—Kanoni—Sembabule—Villa Maria—Masaka road as an alternative route to avoid the delays.
“We regret the inconvenience caused,” said management.
