Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has boycotted the Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) summit.
The National Resistance Movement Party National Chairman will host the IPOD summit at Kololo Independence Grounds on Friday.
According to a letter written by the Chairperson of the IPOD Council who is also the NRM party Secretary General, Rt Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba, the third ordinary summit of leaders is scheduled to take place under the theme : “Dialogue for National Cohesion”.
“For us as a party we think IPOD should have first audited and discussed irregularities in the 2021 general elections,” said Mandala Mafabi, FDC Secretary General on Wednesday.
He added: “The FDC will therefore not be available for the Summit.”
The summit is expected to review and make a follow up on the previous summit resolutions including but not limited to the agreed position on the effective implementation of the Public Order Management Act (POMA).
In line with the IPOD Memorandum of Understanding, which provides for the IPOD Council of Secretaries General to periodically organize a summit of leaders at least once every six months.
