The territorial police in Nsangi, has instituted inquiries into a video clip where three people were captured walking naked, amidst mixed feelings from the community in Nsangi.
The video had a false narrative claiming the victims were using nudity to protest the outcome of the recent elections, which is not true, but an act of propaganda by disgruntled supporters.
SP Patrick Onyango, PRO KMP, says they have since established that on the 12.02.2021, a traditional healer was performing rituals on a 12 year old female juvenile, at the home of the late Nveri Yoweri, located at Muzinda cell, Katereke parish, Kyengera Town council in Nsangi Division.
The victim, together with Nakulima Sauya, a 21 year old female adult, and the traditional healer, stormed out of the homestead, naked and began walking towards a local cave in Katereke for ritual cleansing.
The trio appeared possessed and did not have control over themselves.
A similar traditional ritual was performed by the family in 2018.
Its therefore, unfortunate that such videos of naked persons including a 12 year old female victim, were recorded and shared in such a manner, Onyango said.
“Our task team will definitely trace for such perpetrators of cyber crime, as well as the traditional healer, for acts of public nuisance.”
