So far, 12 suspects have since been killed and 106 arrested in a space of months, President Museveni has revealed.
Museveni was Saturday night addressing the nation about vaccination, crime and terrorism.
He says some of those killed targeted Maj Gen Paul Lokech’s burial because he was a serious police officer.
“They were not happy about him being different from most police officers who are laxed,” Museveni noted.
He said having been defeated in the rural areas, the ADF has now resorted to urban terrorism.
In 2012, they started assassinating individuals including Sheikhs, Joan Kagezi, Major Kiggundu and others.
“I have heard some arguments about Sheikh Muhammad Kirevu. Some say that he was a nice person. There is no way security operatives would have known about Kirevu if he was not connected with the recent attacks and attempted assassinations.”
According to the president, both crime and terrorism are motivated by parasitism – people who want power and wealth without democracy or working with their hands.
He said apart from 106 suspects arrested in connection with the recent bomb attacks, security is still hunting for others such as Obaida Bin Bukenya.
“My advice to all of them is to surrender and save themselves, if not, they will all die.”
He said ADF didn’t understand the security measures that govt announced on June 18, 2018.
Museveni noted that their attempt to assassinate Gen Katumba Wamala lured them into a trap because once they arrested one of them, it was only a matter of time before they got all of them.
As pressure mounts on security forces over the killing of suspected terror suspects, Security Minister Major General Jim Muhwezi says their gunning down is never intentional.
