Today’s plenary sitting has been called off following twin explosions in Kampala.

Deputy Speaker Anitah Among has advised MPs and staff who are not yet here to stay away due to the incidents which just happened on Parliament Avenue and other parts of Kampala.

“Today’s sitting of @Parliament_Ug has been called off, MPs are advised not to Come to Parliament. We are God’s own as a Country, He keeps watch over our beautiful Country at all times,” Among tweeted.

Salim Uhuru, Mayor Kampala Central, told NTV his friend called Katongole has died in this explosion.

Dr Sarah Zalwango told NTV that atleast 17 casualties have been received in the nearest hospitals and five of them have already been treated at KCCA City Hall health facility and discharged.

The remaining 12 have been referred to Mulago hospital.

Major Gen. Abel Kandiho, the Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) and other security officials earlier arrived at the Parliamentary Avenue where the second explosion was reported on November 16, 2021.

Security officers are using sniffer dogs to search for more evidence.
