Twin explosions have Tuesday morning rocked the Ugandan capital Kampala.

One explosion was reported at Parliamentary Avenue next to the Jubilee Insurance offices and the other happened at the entrance of Central Police Station (CPS).

“I saw a skull, I can see many people bleeding and so it’s blood and shuttered glasses all over. Everywhere around here, I can see pieces of human flesh,” reported NTV journalist Sudhir Byaruhanga.

Shortly Special Forces Command (SFC) soldiers swiftly deployed and cordoned off the area with the help of police.

Security has been reinforced at the crime scene as more ambulances arrive to evacuate the injured.

Bomb squad operatives have started arriving while ambulances continue to evacuate some people that could have been injured by the explosion.

Earlier, some bystanders complained about the delayed response by the Police.

First responders included Red Cross personnel who were using fire extinguishers to curb the fire on Parliamentary Avenue.

Security operatives continue to search the scene for any pieces of evidence.

“I can confirm that a friend of mine called Katongole has died in this explosion,” Salim Uhuru, Mayor Kampala Central, told NTV.
