Speaker Jacob Oulanyah has met Izabela Karpowicz, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) resident representative in Uganda.

They discussed the economic outlook of Uganda and the progress with implementing reforms supported by the Extended Credit Facility Loan.

Karpowicz said the loan will improve the country’s budget and added that there is need to lower the cost of doing business so as to avail space for private sector growth.

Oulanyah said the ordinary Ugandan has become disconnected from infrastructure development.

“I will invite you to a meeting where I will be speaking with Committee Chairpersons of Parliament, and you can give them more information on IMF’s relationship with Uganda.”
