The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Hon. Eng. Patrick Amuriat, Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi and other senior party leaders concluded the tour to Eastern Uganda districts which began on Thursday 28th October 2021 in Busoga.
The aim of these meetings is to check on the health of the FDC in these areas.
Reports about the 2021 elections are presented and discussed.
The leadership of the party in respective districts is also audited to establish positions that have fallen vacant as a result of desertion, deaths, migration, loss of interest in leadership and other factors as a way of preparing to build new structures.
The FDC leaders will by Friday, 12th November will kick off to the Northern Uganda in the different sub regions of Lango, Acholi & West Nile.
Districts where review meeting were held are instructed to refill vacant positions.
All leaders elected under the re-fill exercise are holding positions on an interim basis until internal party elections will be held.
The meetings have also discussed pending local government elections where the Electoral Commission has announced vacancies.
FDC leaders in these particular areas have been instructed to select candidates who will represent the party in these elections.
After West Nile, the FDC leaders will visit and hold meetings in Western Uganda starting with Bunyoro.
