A Ugandan artist is among this year’s winners of the African Youth Arts Festival Contest.

“Africa No Filter” partnered with AUDA-Nepad to find Africa’s best visual talent: the #AfricaYouthWant using visual art for the Youth Arts Festival.

The three winners are; Akinrinsola Babajide (Nigeria), Lungile Mbokane (South Africa) and Dong Aldrine Isaiah (Uganda).

They showcased their art at the virtual festival.

Akinrinsola Babajide from Nigeria came in first place after showcasing “The title of the project is scared and unsure: hand-drawn with pen, it tells the story of an everyday African youth & self-discovery.”

The 2nd place winner of the African Youth Arts Festival Contest was Lungile Mbokane from South Africa with “The Hipnotic Art Movement is inspired by the book “The Afrikan Alphabets”.

“I was inspired to create my own language, to express my style & form of development as an artist,” said Lungile.

The 3rd place winner of the African Youth Arts Festival Contest was Dong Aldrine Isaiah from Uganda with “’Wings’. It was created with the open-source 3D software, Blender.”
