Equally on the sidelines of the event, he received assurances from Turkish Ambassador that Ugandans in Turkey including Fred Lumbuye are safe and have full protection of the law and international law.

“I also received assurance from Uganda State Minister for Foreign Affairs Okello Oryem that he respects rights of Ugandans including Lumbuye and that he has instructed the Uganda Embassy to issue Lumbuye a  Uganda passport like all other Ugandans so that he is free to willingly travel anywhere in the world wherever he wants like any other citizen of Uganda.”
