Makerere University Dean of Students Winifred Kabumbuli has announced new accommodation arrangements for resident students as approved by University Management
All Halls will reopen and the current resident and international students will return to their Halls of attachment or respective private Hostels.
Finalists and first year resident students will report to their Halls of Residence from 1st November to 27th November for physical classes and vacate the Halls thereafter.
Second year and other continuing students will report to their Halls of residence for 4 weeks from 28th November to 24th December 2021 of physical learning.
First year and all resident continuing students will be accommodated to sit examination for two weeks from 3rd January 2022 to 15th January 2022.
Wardens should ensure room allocation for residents is done in line with SOPs as recommended by Ministry of Health and Dean of Students Department COVID-19 Management Plan.
Private students who may wish to stay in Halls of Residence will be required to apply to the Hall first. Applicants who will get accommodation space will be required to pay a fee of UGX. 145,000/= (one hundred forty five thousand shillings only) to the bank.
Wardens should encourage all Staff and Students in their respective Halls of Residence to be vaccinated.
The process to pay Food & Living out Allowances for Government sponsored students is ongoing for those whose Bank details are correct.
As all students return, everybody, whether in Halls of Residence or Hostels is strongly urged to strictly follow the SOPs for prevention of spread of covid-19.
