Former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has shared a video which depicts scenes in Busia District as security personnel attempted to arrest National Unity Platform coordinator and area councillor, David Oguttu.
Earlier on, security officers conducted a day-time search at Oguttu’s home.
They discovered nothing to connect him to criminal activity and subsequently issued him a search certificate clearing him.
However, the same security officers returned to Oguttu’s home later in the night and after a brief search, they purportedly discovered a magazine with live ammunition.
They later attempted to arrest Oguttu but the community put up resistance and the security officers abandoned their mission.
“As you can see comrades, the regime is doing everything possible to frame its opponents for criminal activity,” Bobi Wine said.
He added: “We are going to see even more of these incidents playing out against us all over the country, but we should remain firm and fortified by the conviction that we are pursuing a right and just mission.”
