A Ugandan national Kakeeto Patrick aka Pato has been conditionally  released from detention by Turkish Authorities together with several other foreigners.

According to Nkunyingi Muwada, the Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister, Pato’s release is conditioned on exiting Turkey within 30 days and not allowed to travel beyond Istanbul.

“I have talked to him on his personal phone and he sent me the attachments below,” said Nkunyingi.

“This simplifies our search and legal efforts which commenced from the time he was reported arrested in Turkey.”

Pato, a Ugandan living in Turkey, was arrested on Friday.

An audio seemingly in his own voice surfaced suggesting that he was questioned on among others his expired visa status.

“None the less and without prejudice, we politely encourage Uganda Nationals in the diaspora to intensify efforts of timely updating & renewing  individual immigration/Visa status as required by Law,” Nkunyingi said.
