It was a rainstorm of bullets and teargas that welcomed Bobi Wine to Fort Portal city on Monday evening.
Bobi Wine first clashed with security in Kyegegwa town where they cancelled his rally venue and arrested his advance team.
He was then blocked from accessing Kyenjojo town and teargassed with his supporters.
The same situation awaited him at the heart of Kabarole district.
“They (police) blocked all the main roads and diverted us to the villages, they blocked us from accessing the towns and cities, they fired tear gas and live bullets at us, they mercilessly beat the people who were trying to come and listen to our message, they even tear gassed the people who stood by the roadside to wave to us,” he narrated.
“They did not know that all this was only making the people more fearless.”
He thanked the people of Fort Portal for making a statement.
“I know that the people who managed join us today are not even 5% of the people that would have come and yet they came in plenty.”
He added: “Now you know why the regime is scared.”
