National Unity Platform presidential candidate Bobi Wine Tuesday started his campaign in Butaleja District.
He was received by massive crowds on arrival at the venue where he held his first day’s campaign rally.
“I’m an MP and we passed a budget for masks for all Ugandans,” he said.
“I see most of you don’t have them. It’s because the people in govt stole the money. When I become president I will make sure all of you have masks,” he told Butaleja supporters.
Bobi Wine then proceeded to Tororo town for his second rally.
Speaking to his supporters, he said:
“President Museveni brought more than Shs80b in Kyadondo, we beat him. He brought more money in Jinja we beat him. He did the same in Bugiri we won. In Arua, as people were voting, I was in Makindye army barracks but we still won. What does that mean?”
“It means that even if they kill me, things are irreversible right now. We are here to show the power of the people.”
He was speaking at a rally in Achilet village in Tororo District.
