Security blocks Mao’s main Kasese rally


Democratic Party (DP) Presidential candidate Norbert Mao kicked off his campaigns in Kasese district.

Mao set off at 10:41am from his TJ Global hotel room in Kasese town on Friday.

He traversed Kasese District and was to close the day with a rally at Kilembe Quarters play ground at 18:05pm.

He arrived at the venue amid heavy security which didn’t allow his rally citing time.


He was given an opportunity to greet and say good bye to his supporters who had started piling up to hear what he had for them.

In about five minutes, he talked about reconciliation and peace building that can only be brought by voting for the hoe (DP’s symbol).

He was escorted out of the venue and directed to the south end of the district via Kilembe quarter road towards Mbarara road, back via Kasese main roundabout then back to his hotel.

He was in company of the Busongora South MP contestant, a one Benardet Businge who is contesting against Jackson Mbaju Kathika the incumbent FDC and other 8 candidates.
