There was a fierce confrontation between military and Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine in Moroto town on Friday.
Joint security forces deployed heavily and blocked the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate from accessing Moroto town.
He had planned to appear on a radio talk show in the evening.
The DPC Moroto ordered the Radio to shift his program from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
“Apparently because he feared our people coming out to make a statement,” Bobi Wine said.
He said UPDF and police had been beating his people since morning.
“When you see the level of deployment, you would think it’s a war zone!”
For atleast 30 minutes, Bobi Wine was held at a roadblock by the military and police.
“Having spent the whole day beating up our people, they now fear that people will gather to wave at us!”
He was later allowed into the town where he addressed supporters on radio.
