Police has Wednesday morning blocked a rally organised by National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine’s campaign machine rolled from Arua city to Kitgum and will then head to Pader and Gulu city.
William Komakech, DPC of Kitgum district, says he will not allow NUP presidential campaigns in the area.
“He has ordered police to block us from accessing Kitgum town,” said Joel Ssenyonyi, NUP party spokesperson.
Bobi launched his campaign in Pakwach Tuesday before entering Arua city.
He was even given a new name in West Nile.
“Dear Barbie Kyagulanyi, just to let you know that my brothers and sisters in West Nile gave me a beatiful name Obin, which means “For the people”. So do not be surprised when you’re moving around Arua Park and someone calls you Mrs. Obin,” he said.
