Bobi Wine, Amuriat nomination today: police readies teargas

Police has early Tuesday morning deployed heavily ahead of the nomination of the strongest opposition candidates.

Notable among aspirants to be nominated are National Unity Platform flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer Patrick Amuriat Oboi.

Police said it will use as much teargas as possible if Bobi Wine ad Amuriat pull processions to the nomination venue in Kyambogo.

According to NUP youth coordinator Job Francis Zaake, they have already drawn the nomination travel guide.

Bobi Wine will set off from his residence in Magere via Kumbuzi ➡️ Kisaasi ➡️ Ntinda Stretcher Road ➡️ Spear Motors ➡️ Kyambogo Junction ➡️ Kyambogo Nomination Venue.

Time is 9AM.

FDC says it’s programme starts with Ecumenical Prayers at 7am.

All supporters and Members are welcome to grace the occasion.

Amuriat said he will bring only 2,000 supporters to escort him to Kyambogo.

He cited the case of NRM supporters who were spotted around Serena Hotel marching towards Jinja Road enroute to Kyambogo University where Mr. Museveni was being nominated.

“As they do this with impunity, they expect FDC to keep fold,” he wondered.

Like the Party Spokesperson Hon.Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda noted during a Presser, Amuriat will be escorted by about 2000 people.
