The Electoral Commission has duly nominated Patrick Amuriat Oboi.
Amuriat is now the official Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate.
Amuriat was Tuesday arrested at FDC offices in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road.
He was forcefully driven in a police car to Kyambogo nomination centre.
After being nominated, Amuriat said he went to the centre a prisoner.
He narrated how he was grabbed from his office barefooted and taken without his nomination papers.
He lashed at the “dictatorial” NRM regime led by President Museveni and ” a partisan police”.
He asked the EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama to do something about a situation where a presidential candidate and potential president can be arrested anyhow.
“I came to this nomination a prisoner. I was kidnapped by the security foces, forced into a salon vehicle, brutalised, I wear bruises on my body and feel body pain,” he said.
“I come here without shoes. This shows the kind of dictatorship we are up against.”
