Presidential aspirant John Katumba suffered a setback on his way to the nomination ground after his car suffered a puncture.
Katumba then left the car behind and run on foot to the nomination centre.
The 24-year-old was born in 1996 during Museveni’s first presidential campaign.
24 years later, he is running against the president.
“I haven’t yet paid the Ushs 20m in the bank yet because when I tried, I was asked for an employment letter which I don’t have since I am not employed but I have the money with me,” he told NTV.
The Electoral Commission rejected him saying he was lacking the required papers.
He also failed to pay the mandatory Shs20m nomination fee.
His agenda was to liberate Uganda psychologically, socially, economically and politically.
Katumba blames EC for making it hard for him to pay the money in the bank saying he doesn’t have a Tax Identification Number (TIN) number which is required.
He asking the EC to allow him avail the money in another way, saying he had it in his car.
