Education ministry says Busoga university still closed


The Ministry of Education and Sports has clarified that Busoga university is not yet reopened as reported in media.

On the 4th of August Daily Monitor published an article that we would wish to clarify on as follows:

Busoga University had its Provisional Licence revoked at the 45th Sitting of the National Council for Higher Education held on 27th November, 2017.

A transitional Committee chaired by Dr. JC Muyingo, the Minister of State for Higher Education was then appointed by H.E the President to guide the Government takeover process.

The Committee is in advanced stages of concluding a report that will be presented to the Appointing Authority.

The General Public is hereby informed that the University remains closed as all parties i.e Busoga University, National Council for Higher Education and Education ministry resolve all outstanding issues, the statement said.

“We further appeal to the media to continue to ensure that all stories are confirmed to be accurate prior to publishing.”
