The national army has dismissed as false reports claiming it sent troops inside the neighbouring Congo.
“This is to refute the information circulating on social media that more than 1000 UPDF troops have entered the DRC,” said army spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire on Thursday.
“It is absolutely not true because all forces along that common border remain deployed within the territory of Uganda.”
The army usually deploys to the border whenever Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) pose a threat to border towns.
UPDF even established a mountain brigade in Rqenzori to guard against rebels.
