CMI boss Kandiho made Major General

President Yoweri Museveni Saturday promoted Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence [CMI] commandant Abel Kandiho from the rank of Brigadier to Major General.

The president also promoted 11 other officers to rank of Major General, 12 officers to the rank of Brigadier and five officers were promoted to the rank of Colonel.

Col. C.K Asiimwe who heads CMI’s Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce has been promoted to Brigadier.

Other promoted include; Brigadiers Ddiba Ssentongo, Deputy Managing Director, National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), the business arm of UPDF, Hudson Mukasa who is the Defence attaché to Kenya; Lucky Kidega, Defence attaché to Somalia.

Others are; Innocent Oula, UPDF MP and head of Civil Military Cooperation; Geoffrey Katsigazi, the deputy commander of the UPDF Airforce; Jack Bakasumba, the Joint Chief of Staff Uganda Police and Charles Okidi, Chief of Staff, Airforce and George Igumba, Chief of personnel and administration — all to the rank of Major General.

Among those promoted to the rank of Brigadier is Rebecca Mpagi, the director of Personnel and Administration at the Airforce.
